The inverse of that is equally true. You CANNOT screw someone else without screwing yourself. They say they're going to confiscate the wealth of the rich, they end up confiscating everyone's wealth. They say we need to charge an alternate minimum tax on the rich, pretty soon everyone's paying alternate minimum taxes. They tax luxuries, boat builders lose their job. It's almost mystical how it works. People are better off when people do the right thing.
