You have captured the point exactly.

As I noted in a post just made to SR, my somewhat casual observation of a number of posts back seems to have gotten out of hand.

You and I seem finally to be agreed that what I said was true (except you inserted belief where I would only use opinion, saving belief for other uses), and of importance to philosophers, but of little moment to us as we live our daily lives out. Which is, IMO, true of much modern philosophy. Ah for the days of giants like Aristotle, Plato, Berkeley (just thought I would toss him in to give Neocon another name to recognize -- I'll bet not more than two people on this board other than Neocon and I have actually read Bishop Berkeley and discussed him in class, though he would have approved of my point).

This has been fun while it lasted, but I hope (I eschew the vulgarity of "hopefully" in this context) somebody will come up with a cogent observation tomorrow that will turn our attention to a less esoteric and more practical topic of discussion.
