DMA--Humphrey trashed McGovern in the 1972 Presidential race (I'm old enough to remember it, and actually worked for McGovern) as a radical, which he wouldn't have done earlier, in my view; As for Wellstone, the National Journal just ran an article on him questioning whether he'd "sold out" because of he'd moved to the right... Of course, moving to the right is a relative term--it depends where you start from, obviously....
