Yes we did end that first leg of our initial trip at Rose Blanch, to see the restoration of the stone lighthouse there. The gentleman, who climbed up the grade from his house to greet us ... explained that some of the "byes" had a bit too much to drink ... and backed over the light house sign. During our conversation, I asked him "what do people do in Rose Blanche ?" His reply ... "Nuthin'" . We did vist the ferry facility at Diamond Cove (I believe), to discover that we had missed the last trip of the day, but "you may hitch a ride on the Mail Boat", and "someone will always offer you a place to stay for the night." Indeed there are about 8 communities which depend solely on this service for their lifeline to the outside world. I am still amazed when I read the intellectual words, of the US West Coast academics .... who naively insist ... that V-OFDM ... with it's two widely spaced antenna towers, and its (100 pounds or so) of rack mounted paraphernalia, would ever be seriously considered as an alternative to Wi-Lan's Hopper or W-OFDM products. These are just a tiny sample (living proofs) of a major need for the Wi-Lan alternative. We are looking forward to our Spring visit to the Rock. Nippers Harbor, on the Baye Verte Peninsula, is at the top of my personal list. Wonder if we'll see Hopper equipment at the new Guv'mint Wharf , as well ? Oh, BTW , for a "Must Read" for all Canadians & Open Minded Yanks .... Read .."Night of the Caribou", by Douglas How Reprinted by Nimbus Publishing Ltd. of Halifax NS ISBN 0-88999-410-2 I hope to visit the Caribou monument at Port aux Basques. Best to All, Mardy.
