San Francisco to fund sex change for Roberta Miller SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - San Francisco plans to become the first U.S. city to finance sex change operations for city workers under its health care benefits program, officials said Friday. The proposal, which is expected to receive final approval from the city Board of Supervisors, would permit city employee Roberta Miller to have her sex reassignment surgery, Supervisor Winnie Scrotum said. "This is a medically diagnosed condition -- gender identity disorder. One does not enter in to this cavalierly, and Roberta Miller has been hounding us for months to have this operation done. I can't believe the mess this person is in, Roberta started out as a man, we think. We only have records going back so far. Then, when he was a man he wanted to have a sex change operation to become a woman. As a woman, Roberta remained attracted to women, so Roberta became a lesbian. Now, she wants to become an it. We don't know what an it will look like, we've never had an it city employee before. But, it really is a matter of equal benefits for equal work," Leno said. The total cost for female-to-it surgery is estimated at about $77,000 according to reliable sources.
