YOu remind me of something else I did allll my life- right into adulthood!!! ANd it probably explains the creation of Rambi and DAR and the detailed world I have in my head of DARIA. "Stepping into Stories"- exactly. I called them "thinks". They started when I was very young and would pretend that the crystal doorknobs were magic transporters into other lands. They wren't terribly inventive lands- there was Ghostland, and Paperdoll Land. THen as I became preadolescent, I became the lead character in great, highly inaccurate, I'm sure, historical fiction. My favorite was being a Greek noblewoman captured by the Romans and sold into slavery to a handsome Roman. Guess we all know what THAT was about. When I admitted this on Feelings years ago, Christine confessed she had done the same thing, only hers was a medieval castle scenario with her in flowing gowns and that duncecap hat and a handsome knight.
