Thanks Bob,
Actually I have done a great job of raising both my kids. It's harder work that picking stocks for sure.
Back to taxes. Any feeling about making fica taxes deductible for tax purposes? That would immediately reduce witholding and have an immediate impact on the demand side and thus the consumer confidence side.

My bleeding heart tells me to be conservative these days for the greater good.. But if we ever a reach a time of plenty my socialist instincts will kick in. That's why I didn't bitch too much about the big hit in taxes i took during the past 5 years because my income and stock market gains were a direct result of a booming economy. The lesson I learned with Reagan is that sometimes you have to take a step back and go with the things that go you there--ie capitalism.
Are you aware that in the Star Trek world in the 22nd century or so, they outlawed money and each citizen worked to their abilities and each received their needs just like Marx said? I wonder whether conservatives would welcome that outcome. Socialism in a world of plenty with political freedom. Sometimes I let my mind float freely. Anyone selling/shorting amat today? Mike
