I was just trying to be funny. I don't think he was driving it. I am aware of incidents where a drunk GI drove a tank and you would prefer a civilian were doing it.

This is starting to get ugly...the man who set up the sub trip for the civilians that sunk the Japanese boat that killed people was the same man who was forced to retire in 1995 after he made an offensive remark about the rape of a 12-year-old Japanese girl...this will only anger the Japanese all the more and is a terrible irony of sorts...I know it is common practice to allow civilians on board subs, but find the practice ludicrous...I find it further disconcerting that one of these civilians was allowed to make the ascent.
