Fingolfen That's really a lot more positive than I was expecting.

Of course, Niles is probably throwing out some gross exaggerations there (twice the speed at half the power). The CNBC interviewers and audience need to be ooohed and aaahed. Best thing was that he didn't say SELL!

I don't know about Northwood except these statements were on that bootlegged Intel map last Friday:

- Begin transition of Intel® 850-based platforms to mPGA478 socket in Q3'01 for increased performance with Northwood. Also this:

- New mobile Northwood processor with Intel® NetBurst™ microarchitecture brings new levels of performance to full size notebooks in Q1'02.

In both places, Intel does say increased performance with Northwood.

I have been told that because of the process change to copper, you won't see any .18u -> .13u dumb shrinks.
