The truth is that no one was able to master the Bellcore technology except Valence. They have spent the last 8 years developing the technology which is now protected by a broad patent portfolio. The combination of the Telcordia/Bellcore IP with the Valence IP makes Valence the premier player in the true solid Li-Poly (not liquid electrolyte)market. Valence currently has 15 licensees of which 6 are either in production or have production capabilities. Time will tell but it seems the next 2-3 months will tell the story. I predict major licensing agreements with major electronics players in Asia as well as breakthru announcements in technology advancements in the area of electrode chemistry. Sure, its not a slam dunk, if it were the stock wouldn't be trading at 10, but I for one like the risk/reward numbers. It is my understanding that the Trust is a fund set up by Carl Berg for his daughter.
