r/t stands fro real time which is shown on my level II screen. It calulates based on the stock price at any given moment. It uses the real 12 month trailing earnings. What I dont know is whether todays earnings announcement is figured in or not.

Yahoo shows a p/e of 289 at, I presume, yeasterdays closing price. So there is a lot of discrepancy in the reported p/e.

I always use the trailing 12 months since that is a known.
