I've noticed UI too. It does look interesting.

Regarding TOM, it looks expensive considering where 8003 is; however, if it dips below .40, I'll be highly tempted to add a bit to my small position.

Marcman, thanks for the pick. Funny you should mention them. I pulled their info this time last year. They went public in May of '98 at $1.85 / share. I believe they looked like a stable Co, but passed because the sector, as you mention.... zzzzzz.

I believe there's been an increase in the popularity of REITs over the last 6 months, so it's probably a good time to give 'em a second look. Here's some of their initial properties from their 98 prospectus:

Calgary, Alberta
Hidden Valley Subdivision,
Entry Feature,
Calgary, Alberta
Twin Brooks Development,
Show Home Parade,
Edmonton, Alberta
Construction of Village at Broadcast Hill,
Multi-Family Development,
Calgary, Alberta

Current Development Projects.... need to follow up.

What's the TSE's real estate group down over the last 3-5 years? Does it look like the sector is poised to move?

P.S. Glad to hear you're happy with your BEC. I pulled the trigger too. A bit sooner than I planned, but the rapid drop in NG prices spooked me. Still, no regret$. Profit is good:)

P.S. No real prospects at this time. I'll keep you posted.

P.P.S. 8003's last PR was a bit disappointing. Any opinions out there?

Take care,

JT

Marcman,

UI does look safe. Have you considered CUQ? You may want to look at IRD, I think this one will fly one day.

I'm open to picks, even hi techs (ie. Nortel at $21?)

Ciao
