Jim,

CORV....just a momentum play for me on the heels of JDSU and others who have moved up bigtime today. Took my measly +1/2 and ran!

JIM L, I owned CIEN at 12 several years back, the founder of CIEN is Dr. Huber, he left CIENA and started CORVIS, the only ALL OPTICAL SWITCH in the market. CSCO owns appox 20%-30% of CORV, they tried to buy before it went public but DR. Huber said no way. Now my opinion going forward telecoms want next generation network and ONLY CORVIS supplies a switch that goes 4000KG without any regeneration!!!( the optical signal!!)

Research who owns CORV and why, this company is a PURE PLAY that in the coming years will become a household name-----like NT!! or LU!!

re: CORV - Corvad

This is from memory and I hope I am 95% correct.

Corvad makes one of the fastest fiber optical switches in the world. Nothing anybody else makes can compare with it.
I beleive the same guy that started CIENA now runs Corvad. That is pretty good company. I too bought a small position in the past few days in CORV but wish I had stayed on the sidelines after the NT news.

But, repeat after me, I will not buy anymore tech. The news from NT may just send the Nasdaq to a new low in a few weeks. From 16c profit for the quarter to a -4cent loss. Look for CSCO to drop like a rock too bringing the Nasdaq down.

And the news about no new production cuts at OPECS next meeting may mean more softness in the OSX. Of course, the waring from BHI will hurt too. A good money market account or CD is starting to sound good. I need a month vacation from this mess. Lets have a OSX party and set on the sidelines for a while.
