HWP revs 11.9 billion vs 12.4 billion expected. Wasn't this just downgraded 6 weeks ago or so?

Things are worse than even I thought....and that's saying a BUNCH!<NG>

Note that Dell also took a 2 cent charge (100 million) for layoffs, etc. More where that's coming from. Their operating income is 484 million, DOWN from 513 million yr ago and DOWN from 818 million last quarter. This is a growth stock? They deserve a PE of no more than 10 untill they actually turn around their EPS. Oh and gross margins are down y-o-y.

Patron:

It is likely to be an extremely ugly day tomorrow. Just as an example, NT is a huge customer for optical products. I just added some more opticals to my after-hours activities.

Note that aside from a massive lay-off announcement (and this on the same day as our finance minister announced in a speech that he is not worried about a recession here in Canada in 2000), NT also said that they expect the rest of 2000 to be a "bad hair" scene (i.e., forget the H2 bounceback B.S.).

Then we have Dell delivering a nice little judo chop while HWP delivers a kick to the groin. Hide the women and children and put the mattresses against the doors. (g)

Best, Earlie
