bp: Whether the NASDAQ level has already priced in the Nortel "debacle de jour" is moot. IMHO, the real action (and, I hope, the best buying opportunity) should occur between mid-March to mid-April, when: (1) another earnings warnings season rears its ugly head; (2) companies report
TRULY bad earnings and outlooks for Q1 and Q2 2001; (3) the economic data over the next 2-3 weeks is not as dire as some would like and Wall St. starts talking about the possibility that Alan Greenspan many NOT lower rates after the March Fed meeting; (4) investors engage in another round of tax-loss selling, dumping losers for 2002 tax write-off purposes to pay taxes.

I would not be surprised to see NASDAQ re-test and possibly break through the 52-week low of 2280. If this materializes, I will buy tech stocks aggressively. It may not be THE best opportunity of 2001, but it'll be good enough for me.
