Fox rested Temptation Island last night and found that without it, the network could drop right out of the race for prime time's demographic lead. The network bowed to the romance of Valentine's Day and pre-empted Temptation Island for the Barbra Streisand: Timeless concert special, but paid a big price in the Nielsens. Fox ended the night with barely one-third the 18-49 rating it normally gets on a Temptation Island Wednesday, sending the network from its usual perch atop Wednesday's demographic standings to a lowly third-place finish. It was the network's worst night-long average of the February sweep to date, after the previous Wednesday had generated Fox's best average of the sweep.... inside.com
