Dak:

Yesterday and today really tested the bears. That run-up in AMAT after the company's admission that things looked bleak spooked me and I know it spooked many other bears. At this end, I boxed, then gritted my teeth around 10:30 this morning and unboxed. Half an hour later, I acquired a pot full of AMAT puts at a very modest price. I will admit to being in a sweat while I did this. (g)

As soon as I heard the NT news, I dove into the after-hours market and went at the optical stocks, which had been soaring this last two days.

We shall see tomorrow what the N.Y. crowd come up with for spin, but all that egg on their shirt-fronts tonight sure looks good on them.

Incidentally, where is our taunting visitor from this morning? I hope he pokes his head in here tomorrow. (g)

Best, Earlie
