I think your problem is that you have been selecting and buying your own cheese on the private market. Clearly you are incapable of making such weighty decisions regarding your own life, as are most of us. I suggest that we pool our resources and lobby for the creation of a U.S. Cheese Supply Cooperative, which could rid the stores of their present confusing varieties of cheese and in its place provide outdoor cheese lines where we could obtain an equal number of slices of Velveeta each week. Married couples, since they are one entity and not two, would only be entitled to one Velveeta slice weekly as a couple. A government-provided counseling service could resolve disputes between couples about who actually gets to consume this fine product each week. Prisoners would get one slice of cheese per day regardless of marital status to avoid stigmatization and the possibility of inmate unrest.

I am sure this could be run as efficiently as you run your business with the proper oversight from the appropriate agencies.
