did a little more research at the kitco gold chart site... looks like ny gold hit a low of $254.67 last sept 99 and closed today at $255.30, so the squeeze is on.....tomorrow should be fun...or funny.....:(((

Re squashing the goldbuggers, please observe that silver is also taking a hit. One should resist being afflicted with goldbug paranoia.

Re gold shares holding up, I should mention again that my regression analysis shows Anglogold (which is now the main gold share which I study) showing an outstanding buy signal, similar to 1993. I must warn you though, that the expected response can take 1-2 years to develop.

I can also say that my analysis shows that it is also possible that a bull market in gold shares could develop with little upward movement in gold, itself. So, the tail might wag while the dog sleeps.
