Shack:

I agree.

On a related topic, any market players who do not comprehend just how much "wealth effect" tonight's multiple news items represent, especially coming as they do on an already heaped pile-up bad news, shouldn't be in this game. The lay-offs just continue to escalate and aside from the psychological damage it does to the unfortunate guys and gals who actually get laid off (and who are forced to cut back dramatically), it also impacts the spending plans of his or her friends who see it happening. I wouldn't want to be a retailer of ANY consumer goods for the foreseeable future.

On top of that, just how many goods or services are hurting, shrinking and debt-laden corporations going to buy as their own piece of the economic pie shrinks? This is a low pressure area with tightening isobars as far as I am concerned, and the approaching storm is rapidly acquiring enough critical mass that Alan's insane printing isn't going to matter.

best, Earlie
