I understand yours, too, right up to the point where you feel your beliefs supercede everyone else's and should be imposed by force of law. I can't go there. I don't think this country should go there. But that, of course, is the power of government, in our case democracy. I don't believe there should be an income tax, but those people who do supersede my beliefs and everyone else's who believe as I do and impose one by force of law. If those opposed to abortion become a majority and can get legislation passed which passes constitutional muster and prohibits abortion, they are as entitled to impose that will on others by force as the others are to impose on me an income tax and thousands of other laws I don't believe in and indeed believe are totally wrong. Tough luck for me -- if you can't muster a political majority to change thelaw, obey or get out.
