The problem is that Barry wanted to make suspension mandatory instead of leaving it up to the schools to decide on a case by case basis. FYI there are no other mandatory sentences in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and I don't believe in them. I think there should be a range of sentences and let the punishment fit the circumstances.

As I recall, the youths in Nazi Germany were punished for not doing the arm salute to Adolf Hitler -- is that what we want in the USA? Forced patriotism? Where does it end? Death camps for those we disagree with or don't like?
