"The future begins now for networking companies, which is bad for Nortel (NT:NYSE - news) and good for Ciena (CIEN:Nasdaq - news), judging by Thursday's action"

It's funny isn't it? A couple of years ago when CIEN was at 10, I recall the same doom and gloom that I see now for NT.

It appears to me that CIEN is wildly overvalued even after coming down from its highs. NT is probably dead money for the next 6 months, but to me seems to have better upside performance potential over the next few years.
