And LDT/HyperTransport is very similar to SCI, apparently. SCI has only been kicking around for 5 or 10 years. Personally, I'd guess that Hotrail looked at available markets and figured out that chipsets for Athlon servers wasn't going to make them much money, near term. And near term is all there is for a startup like that. They probably had development problems too, though, even the (ahem) dominant players in the chipset market have run into problems from time to time. -Win
