"To replicate a network with these numbers of pops, in a competing technology, would carry an aggregate cost north of 100 billion dollars. Therefore, Metricom/Ricochet has significant futuristic value as a wireless mobile internet access provider. The cost of spectrum and the hardware needed to create a new network will only escalate in the future. Therefore, an abandonment of Metricom/Ricochet due to unresolved forward funding seems most unlikely and extremely shortsighted. The two significant owners in Metricom/Ricochet, Vulcan Ventures and Worldcom, know the futuristic value of an operating wireless data network perhaps better than anyone. And it must be further noted, Metricom/Ricochet is the only wireless theme offering that Worldcom has in its arsenal."

Probably a good sign is that we are probably about to be inundated with a new, even lower level of FUD. We've seen the one-dimensional posters who in fishing around for bashing, settled on the lack of subscribers. To their credit, they called it right. There is no getting around that. I do believe this is built into the price and, if MCOM management shows any sign of life in PR, IR and marketing, then we will see the shorts scurrying a little faster than they did on Friday.

Investing success means learning from, but not dwelling on, yesterday's successes or failures. I try to analyze every night whether something looks good for the next day. When I stray from that, and start to worry about what I paid for or at what price I sold the particular investment, I invariably make mistakes.

As I've posted before, just about everyone who writes about MCOM raves about the network and the technology. There really is no cost effective technology that will be available in the next few years. Whether management is able to translate that into something that benefits shareholders is the half billion dollar question. However, the same questions are there for all the wireless players except their questions are more like 15 billion (e.g. Vz) or much higher (e.g. AWE - ATT or whatever they finally decide to become.) (I personally don't think Sprint will ever be in the ballgame and will need a takeover to be competitive.)

I'm speaking specifically about that moron Fesbech Discliples, Freshdick Disciples or whatever he follows, who posted a few posts ago with a totally inane, ridiculous post. (Did you known that his middle name is Urine and that legend has it that he is the original FUD?) I have watched him with amusement on several boards. His MO is quite simple. He posts on several boards over and over with totally inane comments bashing the company. His comments are the type that take advantage of fine print in SEC filings. His analysis takes about 5 minutes but this allows him to cover many boards. Then he will disappear for awhile, usually when the position goes against his bashing. He then comes back, after a huge hit and has the most idiotic posts. He has lucked out in the greatest bear market (techs) since the depression and then constantly bashes and is happy that others, who didn't "listen" to him, have lost fortunes.

Can you imagine basing your analyses on the fact that FEDEX was shipping less of NT stuff from a couple of telephone calls? He bashed over and over on the NT board based on his calls to FEDEX whereby they supposedly told him that NT wasn't shipping as much product.

I've also watched him post over and over again advising shorting the penny stock NPNTQ. While I follow it as an extremely long-shot bankruptcy play, he gets on there and posts hundreds of times bashing those who have played it long. This clown sometimes posts, it seems, 24 hours a day. (Kind of reminds me of someone on the Yahoo MCOM board. Hmmmm - makes you wonder.)

If it's any consolation, the bull market was telling us it was topping when every fool (including myself) was making money hand over fist without proper analysis. Now every fool, like FUD Discliple, is making money shorting with moronic or no analysis. Tells me a bottom is getting here shortly. FUD Disciple is a true BottomShorter. FUD = BS that's his equation.

Whether he is a paid basher, as some have postulated, or simply someone whose inadequacies in the real world lead to bashing and trashing those who have lost money, I leave to others with more training evaluating the psychological fringes. Suffice it to say, my picture of Mr. FUD is standing in front of a mirror, with his favorite skirt lifted, telling himself that he really is the best stock picker in the room, or something else along those same onanistic lines.

This all leads me to believe that the shorts did not cover Friday despite the 5 million shares, giving us a nice cushion if and when MCOM gets it right.
