"I have no relegious knowledge but if Christ was around only 2000 years back, how could the bible have been around 2500 years back??"

One answer is that it was written over many, many years.

The Bible is composed of two parts; the Old Testament and the New Testament. The New Testament was written in the first century after Christ. The Old Testament consists of older books that people of the Jewish faith wrote. Some of them would go back to 1477 BC or earlier since that could be the approximate date of Moses. The book of Daniel was written in approximately the 6th century BC during the Babylonian captivity and would be 2500 years old today.

OT...OT... Everyone please forgive me as I did not intend to start any Theological OT here. I wish questions like this would have been PM'd.

I have no relegious knowledge but if Christ was around only 2000 years back, how could the bible have been around 2500 years back??

Half of our bible is from the beginning of the creation of the heavens and earth, to the time Christ was born. It is considered an insult to a Jew to refer to that half as "the Old Testament". So I don't...
