ld- grand canyon, what a trip. my uncle did it in 1958 (before the lake powell dam <boulder?> was built). i saw his huge raft and heard the tales when i was a kid. when i was 13 i bought a one-man (two kid) rubber inflatable and took it down to the animas river one saturday morning in aztec, nm with a school buddy. we were going to ride the river to farmington (about 15 miles) where it flows into the san juan.

we didn't make it.
