Dear rich4eagle: Well, in a country as large, populous and diverse as the USA I am sure there are people who slip through the safety net, but by and large I think that we do in fact provide those things to most that need it and even to a lot that DONT need it. From what I have read, most of the homeless actually have some mental illness problems and perhaps are incapable or unwilling to join into the social net. JDN
