Right and in SanFrancisco a young child died because the person placed in charge of the fire brigade was an unqualified woman who made some crucial errors at a deadly fire. This was talked about and apparently was hushed up. Mind you Bev Francis a female firefighter can lift more weights than probably 80 % of the male population. SO as you say the qualifications are there to ensure the quality of the applicant. The purpose of the job is not to hire people it is to accomplish a task. It is important that the qualifications for a job be rational and if so they must be met.
