The window of opportunity to spin off has closed. Siemens was lucky to have spun off and sold out non core business. This is not longer an alternative. Beside me across a partition a guy -who sells fixed line- is always talking about project financing to sell switches. He is asking to be laid off. There won't be money to, artificially prop the fixed line business. But look carefully and see how much R&D money they are still spending in the switches. You'll discover they are still planning a new version of the software -that runs the swicthes- upgrade for 2005. Money down the drain.
