I would be more interested in seeing the current months numbers for Trucking ETC. I Know what happened the last few months, but has it improved? I own a % of an AUTO dealer, very high end. We are haveing a GREAT month. Last month was are worst ever. Is it a fluke? I dont know? My good friend has a huge Insurence Agency, he says Business has never been better(If everyone is closing how come he is writting new premiums)?, And lastly I know someone trying to buy a Real Estate Agency in NYC(I think he is nuts) his business is very strong this month as well. What i am saying is maybee there could be a V recovery in OLD TECH(I am sceptical) but am going through the thought process, especially considering the strength in BKX/DOW. As fort mobile phone biz, you are right certain segments(GSM)are past their cycle top. However PDA'S(I am not recmding the stocks) and CDMA phones and MODEMS still have huge growth potential. Especially for CHIP makers. Qcom stated a brisk outlook. Their MGMT is usially VERY conservitive. Thus I believe the switch in Japan to 3G, ATT conversion and 1xrt in USA will re-spark margin and demand. The product cycle is changing in that area and it will bouy those companies. INDIA, and CHINA still have markets that are way under served as well as Latin America. Remember WLL and Wireless is the main PHONE INFRA in some areas of the world. These buildouts are not only cost effective they are esetial. If anything WLL and Wireless acess can provide Voice/Data etc for most of the third world at a fraction of the cost of hard wire.

Earlie,

I have been considering putting Deere........
With NG prices so high dampening fertilizer production, low water levels up and down the west coast, I would think farming might be a hurting puppy come spring.
Already holding leap PUTS on CAT - thinking with the economy going into the dumper it might be a good bet.
Haven't checked to see if these two do financing, ala telecoms & networkers. Do you happen to know??

My only concern is that people will load up on these "old economy stocks" trying to get out of tech - delaying a drop in their price.

Opinions??????
