yeah, and a spooky little sidenote...my brokerage sent
out a broadcast email stating they will no longer accept
credit card checks for account deposits. Man, the abuse
going on out there...

Margin debt tends to be very "trendy"

In a long bull market it gets to very high levels.When it starts to decline it is long term bearish as long as it keeps falling.In a big bear like 1973-74 it can fall 50% from it's highs.In a bear like the 1930's I think it dropped over 90% before the bear was over.
