I'm so far seeing much less selling pressure than I expected in the Dow, but Nasdaq breadth and up/down volume are ugly, and NAZ new lows leading new highs 32-19. What's that mean? Beats the heck outta me. I still think 2388 will hold, BWDIK. We really don't get a firm breakdown unless we close below 2291, the Jan. 2 close, IMHO. Until then it qualifies as a retest. But below 2388, I'd definitely be getting nervous.

CSCO has already warned, and we held that line; NT's numbers are worse, but so is their legacy systems exposure, and we know there's no spending going on there. Is NT anything more than a confirmation of what CSCO already told us? They blamed optical spending; that's one big negative, particularly for JDSU.
