10:13AM Consumer sentiment falls by Rex Nutting
Consumer sentiment continued to plunge in early February, according to sources who said the closely followed gauge produced by the University of Michigan fell to 87.8 from 94.7 in January. The drop was concentrated in the expectations index, which fell to 77.6 from 86.4. The current conditions index slipped to 103.7 from 107.7 in January.
