AFAIK GW either didn't answer the question or admitted to it when asked the question." Wrong. "Asked whether he had been arrested on anything "after 1968,'' the governor replied, "No.''" Oops.dallasnews.com Of course, you could make the argument that he didn't realize that 1976 was after 1968, we all know how much trouble he has with numbers... "Yes, the person who reported it to the press did have connections to the democratic party as he was a contributor and a delegate to a past democratic convention. I do not know which convention." Definitely a smoking gun there. Wow, he was a convention delegate. Really strong links to the Gore campaign. "I would consider it far more likely that I would forget that as opposed to a blow job in the office, or the definition of the word is." Uh huh. So you truly believe that Smirk forgot that he had to report trades in stock of a company in which he was a principle officer to the SEC. I am not going to comment, you said all there needs to be said here. "GW had no reason to lie there unless he felt that the 2 to one ratio was approx. correct." He had every reason to lie. Since he was likely outspending Gore on both soft and hard money, trying to flip it around and weasel out of it was all he was left. Besides, as his past has shown, telling the truth is not something he is capable of. "It is the person who knows the figures are transposed who is the liar." And Bush knew, or should have known, that he was outspending Gore at that point, instead of the other way around. "The question is. Does GW habitually lie. No. Does Al. no " So then when Smirk called Al a liar throughout the campaign he was doing what? Having a little joke? I'll grant you that taking credit for legislation that was passed before he took office is normal politics, but lying about supporting things you actively tried to kill is somewhat abnormal. It makes you seem somewhat uncommitted to your ideals. Smirk habitually lies to make himself look good or to avoid problems. Not someone you really want as President. "Where have you been the last 20 yrs." Living my life and paying attention. And you? There has never been a campaign in my memory that leaned so hard on "high moral character" by someone with so little. It's not that Smirk lied, as you point out, politicians do that, it's that he almost never told the truth about things that had happened. And we are not talking about different interpretations here.
