JRI, It is indeed puzzling that the market remains flat off the open. Usually when the ZTRIN is above 3 with the down/up vol greater than 4:1, we see continuous point decline as the day progresses but not so far today. Don't know what is keeping it from tanking further. End of day may be exciting. GH

Funny that we haven't taken out the Feb. 13 close yet (2427.72).

In bear markets, shorts cover on Fridays before three-day weekends, if I remember correctly; in bull markets, longs sell on those days. This afternoon should be interesting.

>>never recall seeing the market down so much at open<<

Can you say exhaustion gap? I'm encouraged by what I see so far, the inability to take out some key supports despite all the negativity ... so far. Volume's not high enough to take out a support of this magnitude ... yet. Knock on wood on that one.

the sentiment can also take a quick turn just like optics yesterday and SOX earlier this week, i'm ready for action. i though i will have my hands on butt for a week after unloaded yesterday, and NT blowout...
i have patience to wait another compx 30 point swing for a test, no hurry to chase this tough market.
