I think it's heavily weighted towards traders. And I think they can hammer prices pretty hard over a period of days.

Looks like SUNW is being hammered some more.

Edit: Off to HD.

But that's JMHO.

Hi Ken:

Hope all is well. The drop in SUNW is due to next Thursday's mid quarter conference call and everyone is throwing the towel assuming a warning is about to come their way from Sun. And I dont balme the sellers for which I think no one wants to be caught off-guard and I can say this from first hand experience: I bought a bunch of Nortel shares yesterday about 3 hours to the close of the market at around $31.5/shr (talk about the perfect timing)!

It is needless to say how I feel today watching my NT shares dropping by about $11/shr (and more to come most likely next week! And the sad part is I have not yet mailed out the check to my broker for what I paid for NT shares at $31.5)!! Sort of like buying a shirt at Macy's for $50 only to find out it went on sale the next day for 40% discount! The only difference is that with the shirt I can always ask my lovely wife to go to Macy's and return it to get the discounted price! I am not sure if I can ask her to return my NT shares to get the discounted price of $20-/shr (not that she wont be able to do, but simply because I would be afraid of my own life if she found out)!! Just kidding of course. She knows it and its ok with her.

Anyway, I think the downside to SUNW is limited at this juncture, even though it is now $184/shr (based on 1997 stock price)! Everyone is expecting the worst and they have oversold it today. Eeven if SUNW warns the price already reflects the bad news. I mean any trader/investor who still thinks Sun is doing as great as before despite all the news coming out of Nortel, Cisco, Texas Instrument, etc. etc. must be either in Koma or living in some other Universe.

But then again who knows?! For now I am back in SUNW big time. However I will most likely sell once the stock gets into $27-$30/shr as I feel the negative impacts of .com business failures have really damaged Sun's upside growth potentiall in the near term. I am going to go on vacation far far from thd Internet and the stock market for about 3 weeks. Hope when I come back things have not worsened!

Best Regards,
