Good chart Gersh, a while ago I compared the NDX, Compx, OEX, and SPX on the same time scale. Of course they moved up and down by different amounts, but the local peaks (either tops or bottoms) were within a few days of each other. I recently added the RUT in there to see where it fell, well lo and behold it moved about the same in-so-far as local tops and bottoms are concerned.

I just looked at RUT and it looks to be on the way down but it has a few days to go. This infers to me that the rest of the market will either go on down some more or "roll around in the dirt" until the RUT times out. This really lends some credence to your lower number INMHO.

Overall down seems to be the direction of choice (no surprise) for a little while.
