Are you arguing that we, as a society, grant the same rights to a 17 year old as we do to a 30 year old? Or that a 5 year old has the same rights as a 16 year old? Are you going to argue that the ramifications of me forcing my son to stay in his room is no different than if I forced a 21 year old son to do the same? Are you going to argue that a 4 week old fetus has the exact same rights as my 18 month old child? I don't need a scholarly reference to point out the obvious.
