I can see you point there... I'm just impressed that they're able to do it at all. Parts of the P4 are effectively going at 3GHz at this point...

It will be interesting to see how the P4 evolves from here. Clearly the K7 has already gone through a couple of major revisions to improve performance (classic, to t-bird, and soon to be palomino)... The P4 will also go through revisions as well (at the very least Willamette to Northwood this year)... If, as you say, the 2X ALU's become a major issue... do you think Intel will rework the core???

My only complaint is that AMD hasn't chosen decent horse names for their code-names yet... I mean Morgan's are fine, but everyone knows Arabians are the best...
