I think so, too. But I already have a lot of shares, so I'm trying to be very conservative about buying more. Needless to say, I'm not happy with seeing it go from 65 to 23, but I have no margin debt, and I have enough cash, credit and other resources to live for quite a while (years, even, if necessary) without any compelling need to sell any SUNW. Even if it dropped to zero (gasp!), I've already taken quite a bit more out than I ever put in, so I can't complain too loudly. So I'm considering putting in a GTC sell at 100, turning off the computer, and spending my time learning to play the guitar. I have no doubt that it will eventually come back. It's just too fine a company not to.

Do I sound a bit discouraged? Well, I am. Even going to Home Depot (twice!) didn't help today. <g>

JMHO.

Hi Addi - I too picked up a few shares today as I believe the valuation is now at a reasonable level. This is my first new purchase in over two years. Based on my initial analysis (several months back) a price of $17 would provide an attractive entry point for new money. However I think SUNW is very much oversold and with this new purchase I can now sell covered calls on any significant rally and generate some good income.

What makes SUNW even more attractive to me now is the development of distributed computing systems specifically these new "peer-to-peer" network applications. We have all heard of Napster and even gnotella but this IMO is just the beginning of these "netcentrix" applications. My one concern in the development of these type of applications is security. Many of our enterprise customers share this same concern. SUNW has shown that security is a very important consideration when developing enterprise applications. Microsoft IMO has compromised their security features in favor of releasing new software upgrades that are buggy and have major security flaws (why would they release so many software patches?).

As we move towards this decentralized network computing model, IMO SUNW is the one company that appears to be on the right track. With hindsight we will know what the correct direction is (or was) in two to three years but if SUNW is correct, we will not be able to buy shares at the present bargain price.

In any case, I continue to invest new money into SUNW as this is the way I believe it will eventually play out.

JDN - Did you pick up any more SUNW shares? I believe you stated that $27 was an attractive price....Well $23 1/4 must be a real steal.
