In all seriousness, I recently got a pm from a very thoughtful poster with a lot to add who stated as an aside that he cut way back on his reading of the thread since you began to post. I can't speak for others and I certainly respect your right to freely post as you see fit, but I think that someone needs to burst your bubble and it looks like it may be me. Some people don't care for chest thumping, juvenile self promoting posts. Not all of your posts fall into that category and you clearly have much to offer but a huge number of your many posts do. If you add in that you are generally totally intolerant of any views that you disagree with and that you attempt to drive off and ridicule posters you don't like, and brownnose those you are trying to curry favor with, the effect is to stifle discourse and ruin people's day. Why? What use is that? I, and I believe others, have tried to let you know in a nice way that you were crossing the line but you have evidently been too thick skinned to hear or just don't care. I have never put anyone on ignore and have a lot of respect for opposing views that are well stated, rational and realistic. I think slider is worth his weight in gold (a value that has been decreasing unless he has been gaining weight but still a lot of value) and some of your insights have been very valuable. In spite of that, I have considered putting you on ignore just so that I don't have to listen to the boasting, and lecturing and harangues of JQP and others. Those are my "moderate" views on the matter. In the event I am actually on ignore, as opposed to being on my way to ignore, I would appreciate it if someone would let isopatch know so that he can keep me on ignore for longer than two months this time.
