Interesting,

I see things very differently.

I have never known a bigot or a racist. I've never, in my years of corporate structure, seen a glass ceiling. I have seen secretaries so proficient that we would hope they want to remain in their positions for eternity. I'm not sure how many gay people I know. I thought I rented a house to a gay couple once. Turned out they were just two guys who were too unattractive to get a date.

The closest I've seen to a racist is an old gentleman I've known close to 20 years who would occasionally say that he thinks there is something different about black people...and he just can't put his finger on it.....but his grandson married a black girl and in his life he felt happy to drink to excess with black people and to employ them as often as they fit the job.

Perhaps the difference in where we live and what we have seen is what makes us see and accept things differently.

In my life I have killed countless animals, for food and for sport. I was shot once, and cut to the bone once. Didn't like either event. Since the birth of my daughter I could not hunt for sport or food. I could not face her thinking that her Dad killed a rabbit, deer or other animal. What was once routine for me has become taboo. In my mind today the only animal that kills for sport or money is the human. And with abortion, they kill often for convenience. I don't see where man nor woman should have this right as a convenience of life. Cluster of cells, 6 lbs. 8 oz.....makes no difference to me. I see no sliding scale here. Yes, perhaps I am the worst person to speak as a reformed sportsman and as a father who knew his daughter when she was 8 months prior to being born. Ah...the wonders of medical science....

All that you say is true and relevant. My choice in my reactions to human behavior is always the motive behind the action. Whether it be an insult thrown, an argument fought or a side taken. Being a human ain't easy.
