We were talking about search engines yesterday - here is a search engine that the Wall Street Journal is offering free to its subscribers - but I wonder if it's in my best interest to use it. Apparently it keeps track of what I look at when I search and pushes stuff to the top of the list based on what it thinks are my interests - which sounds cool - but it also says this: >>Users benefit from having relevant information made effortlessly available to them, information they might not even know existed. Information providers benefit from reaching exactly the right set of users interested in their offerings.<< Which makes me wonder if it's just another gimmick for advertisers.
