Area51, I think you can trade this drop but it is scary. I haven't got the nerve to do it this time around but have to admit I still own some selected tech stocks. None of them are large cap and all of them are beaten up but that doesn't stop them from going lower. I agree that tech is the place to be sometime, hopefully soon, and I intend to be there when it occurs. I think I would say that I use right brained TA tempered by left brained analysis. In other words, I try to figure it out and then I guess a lot. (gg) Don't laugh, sometimes it works, well, once it worked for a while.

I think if the nas drops far enough that I can't resist I may well jump in but I hope that I don't enter until I see the hope of an end to the economic factors that are driving the sentiment down now. Probably Gottfried's technique that he mentioned of waiting until the stocks move above a certain moving average is a good bet. I am going to see if I can find a way to make that make sense to me.

With so many similar stocks in the same sector or subsector and with transaction cost so low, I don't know why anyone would buy and hold. It makes more sense to me to ride the sectors up by trying to draft on the latest flyer and then hopping off for another ride. I admit that sometimes it can seem like those frustrating lane changes in stalled traffic but it makes sense to me.

On that self image thing, I know you are joking but I have to say that I never found bragging on myself or downgrading other people to improve my self image, but then as Don infers, I don't have an exceptionally large nose. (gg) Ed
