If Intel is doing 64-bit extensions I think they would be wise to leak it. Nothing would kill AMD faster. Yea, Microsoft is going to like that- TWO Intel 64 bit ports... Microsoft has already begun playing with x86-64. If Intel wants to extend its Willy, Microsoft will no doubt require x86-64 compatibility. Two permit otherwise would threaten Microsoft's platform. Face it. Intel had a shot at 64 bit. They missed. Intel's problem was a simple one- It was a technology company that treated its engineers like $hit, while nursing its MBA's like spoiled children.
