Hi, ZO - You know, the first time you suggested returning some of the auction money, I thought maybe you were making a joke, so I didn't respond.

Obviously you meant it seriously, and I apologize for not answering. I think it's a good idea, but is it possible?

Is it even legal? What would the effect be on the losing bidders, and their bids?

How would you unscramble the egg?

I am not trying to be funny here - my question is sincere: as much as the idea is appealing, I do not see how it could be done. Does anyone know of a case where this has happened before?

Jim
