Meathead "Most of the people who think Michael Dell is an idiot can speak for themselves. I'm convinced they struggle with 1st grade arithmetic. I don't know how you can continually bash a CEO who translates a ~15% PC market share into ~80% of the entire industry's profits. Go figure"

they can't justify their ir-rationalization Meathead. they're relying on antiquated views of the changing technological scene. it's akin to asking a girl if they can lift up her dress to see if she's still wearing her panties. when she obliges and they discover that she is, they still claim she's a whore because she allowed them to check.

they're defining the man (MSD) based on the illness of his mother (the economy).

MSD isn't hiding from any number whores or nerd/pimple pushers. He's won a PC war, now he appears to be in the process of systematizing a victory. Winning a PC war is only the first step. So, Dell is now in the middle of defining/refining that victory. Eventually Dell takes his earnings and puts them to use successfully. Eventually the market recovers.

The stronger horse waiting at the gate, after all the other wearied horses have been beaten in previous races, wins the next race. Let's see who comes out of the stall first with a market recovery.

It's hard to believe one must revert to seemingly silly Chinese proverbs to justify the existance of the most successful PC builder in modern history. We don't need to apologize for Michael.

Next comes phase 2.
