I'm not negative on oil. The problem is that it's a commodity play. Oil has been a specialty of mine for decades. Since 1954 it hasn't been an investment. The people wage a war against this most critical commodity and so, as most oil executives know, you can't succeed in that business. Being an oil exec is like being the CEO of PG&E. You can't do anything but what the PUC allows you to do, and what is allowed is only those things which ruin the company. In oil it's the same thing. Oil majors are merely puppets of government. They can't succeed beyond what is designated as fair and so success is always marginal.

The question for you is why did I say "1954"?
