Hello Neenney,

I was a bit distracted when this was said to me so I may have gotten it wrong. My Girlfriend lives by the tenet that you must appreciate, tell that you appreciate, and SHOW that you appreciate :-)

Our anniversary is the same day as her birthday which is only a few days after Valentine's Day. She told me this year she was going to save her energy and creativity for our anniversary but as I am a few years younger than her I should go ahead and celebrate Valentine's day. :-) I knew that was just a scheme on her behalf but she ALMOST had me believing it on V-Day.

Later I realized that my daughter must have been in on the scheme. She took me to Chuck E. Cheese and before we left she said she had to make a phone call. I dropped her off at a friends and then went home.

A red carpet was laid out on my walkway. Along the sides of the red carpet were hurricane lamps with candles and flowers strewn upon the carpet. I believe this idea came from your husband.

I have learned not to "expect" anything when it comes to my GF because you never know what she is going to do. Though, I found myself contemplating that she would be at the end of the carpet decked out in some lingerie. Boy, did I get that wrong.

I frequently tease her that I am no longer the King of my Castle. I spend my time looking for lost barrettes, Barbie Shoes, and Stilletto Heels ...and picking up after "my women". I spent a long time being a bachelor. Then I got custody of my daughter and met my GF and my life turned upside down.

When I opened the door ..smack in the middle the foyer was a red 'throne' bedecked with a cape, scepter and Burger King crown. The rest of the night was spent re-establishing me as the King of my Castle - the Sultan of my Harem :-)

She didn't intend for me to install my new "throne". It was really just a joke. However, I am installing it as it probably will be only one of two places where I will still be the King of my Castle......
